How to Set off Factory Alarm?

What different methods trip the alarm. I know if the windows are down and you reach inside and open the door it goes off.If you reach in and pop the hood, while its set, the instant you go to open the hood it trips. Lets say all the windows are up, all doors are locked, what would trip the alarm?Last night at my friends the alarm went off in the dead of night, and it never goes off, without me doing one of the things mentioned above. Some one also busted a light out around my friends car so it would be darker while they try and do there dirty work. His car was in the backyard, mine was in the front on the street, but we were both affected.Keep in mind that the theifs are more concerned with the contents in the car than the car itself. Also i made it down a flight of stairs out the backdoor and ran around front inless than 15seconds so there going to have to fast.

Yea...It is pretty useless, considering how easy it is to get into a Supra.

BlkSupra: It sounds like the door lock sensor probably fell off of the lock cylinder in your passenger door, Both of mine were like this, I just clipped them back on, and the problem went away.

Nice time on the stairs Fuzz. :) Back in 8th grade my school went on a field trip to Washington DC area (yes, that was actuallly during the time when the sniper was loose). We were at a hotel in Philly, 16th floor, and around 3am the security guard thought he 'smelt something odd' so he pulled the alarm. So, at 3ish we had 80 8th graders tripping over each other running down the emergency stairwell into a dark, rainy ally. Yeah, that sucked. I was at the front and it only took me like 2 mins max tho.

Anyway, WAAAAAAY off topic ;) So the only time mine's gone off is when my little pain in the ass, oops, I mean brother, reaced in when I had teh targa off and unlocked and opened the door as I was yelling NO at him.

I'm pretty sure its useless, just if hood, hatch, doors are opened, and I would guess if you have a factory stereo and someone tried to pull it it would prolly go off, right? Just a guess....

I am going to replace all the locks soon... I have a new/used lock set for all the key holes... for my black supra. Just havent had the time or place to do it. It involves taking off the door panels if i recall...ugh....:3d_frown:

Thanks for the tip!:naughty:

 :aigo: :nono:

I had the same problem with mine. It turned out to be some after market alarm that had been half removed (found a box under the steering column that was still hooked up). Once I removed it, the passenger door problem went away.

you don't have to set it off....it'll go off on it's own.

sucks when you wake up at 2AM to stick your key in the ignition....not to mention the fact it would randomly unlock my doors, but set off the system when I opened them.

i'm going to yank it out I tell ya!
