With the motor and transmission out, is there anyway to provide power to the cab of the car, i.e. to roll up/down the windows?

Let me just say one is not up all the way, it's down just a crack.

MK3Brent The engine wiring harness is still in the car.

Yeah, as long as the harness is still there.

The reason I asked, is that so many just unhook the 3 connectors from the ECU and ABS comp. then pull the harness out with the engine.

you'll need to touch or mount the main ground from the battery to the chassis (as it's usually mounted to the block)

might work regardless as there is a smaller ground wire, but I wouldn't want to run too much through it...

Hey Ken,

I had the same problem once, forgot to wind the window up. I just hooked the battery back up, turned the key and wound it up. Nothing fried!!! The batt was still grounded on the smaller wire, and the window motor is on the body harness, not the motor harness.
