How to:Gauge face swap

Hey everyone,

I'm sure you guys see the thread about How to: "Face gauge swap" in "Supra tech and tips",
Please help me understand some thing. I guess what I don't understand is, why is someone doing all that work and going through all that trouble to swap the faces on the gauge?? Aren't the gauge cluster's interchangeable between the years?? Don't they plug right in? What did I miss here or what don't I understand?? Don't get me wrong it's really good write up, and explained really well. I didn't read the entire thread, maybe that's where I missed something.

well, i did clearly state that there is a wayyyy easier option to do the swap, i just did it this way since i saved a crapload of money by just buying the faces, and WHAT IF someone on the forums buys gauge faces from online and they want help swapping out the faces themself, that was just a DIY that shows how to swap gauge faces, and it was the time when i got 89+ gauge faces, now if i got white faces then my DIY would be the same except i used different faces on the cluster, does that explaination help?

Not to be a pecker, but if you didn't read the thread entirely and want to be spoon fed info, that's not anyone problem. That write up was done pretty precise. And if you don't have the patience to read things thoroughly then why should we have the patience to explain things to you?

And what do you mean interchangeable? Why would you go dismantle both gauges of xx yr? That's a lot more work. Plus they would basically look the same...

pre 89 and post 89 faces are difference. All other after market faces are "cooler". I dont like certain aftermarket faces. I have LED conversion in my cluster. I've seen TRD faces and i love them. But other wise nothing else have really caught my eyes
