I bought a HKS 3inch downpipe and a 3inch Elbow. But looking at the downpipe I noticed it measures the stock exhaust size and then goes up to 3inch. So the gasket that goes between the two will either be to small for the elbow or too big for the downpipe. I was trying to keep from having restrictions in my exhaust but was wanting an elbow with a wideband. So can you put these two together with no problems other than restriction and what size 3 bolt gasket should I use? The one for 2.5in. Downpipe or the one for 3in. Downpipe? Thanks for any input.

You may want to look into another brand of DP if you want a full 3" exhaust. The 2.5" will reduce your power down some versus a full 3". How much power will you loose? Hard to say, stock boost, somewhere between 10-15HP if you've got a full 3" after the DP probably...

You can do it, but it is not ideal. You will have a choke point.

If you use the stainless flat gasket, that will seal. You won't be able to use the o-ring style gasket.

10-15Hp?! Shit I guess I'm gonna have to sell that HKS and look for something else. Just got that thing too. Whats the part number on that 935motorsports? You have it on your website correct? On the other hand I am planning on putting a Garrett GT4082 on there at some point and time. Guess I could just run the HKS Dp cus I'm gonna have to have a custom exhaust made when I get to this point anyhow. Ehh... now I don't know what to do. Thanks for the replies; Bill.

Keep the 3" elbow and 2.5" DP combo you have now, no need in spending more money on something you'll just have to get rid of later on anyways...

Oh, I don't think so.
