My car makes around 520 whp or so on a dynojet SAE corrected. The problem I'm having is belt stretch. I've got a ron R relocation bracket. All Im running is an alt and water pump. About every 500 miles, the belt starts sqealing, and I've got to tighten it up some more. Its not slipping on the bracket, it is actually stretching the belt.

I've had to replace the belt twice now is 4k miles. I've tried dayco and gates.

I've noticed it happens a lot quicker if the car breaks traction a lot under WOT...

anyone else got this problem?

hmm, never heard of that.
Maybe the layout of your new belt route is putting to much strain on it somehow? Is there any tension on the water pump pulley or alternator pulley w/o the belt? I.E do they spin freely?

I've had problems on my supra at ~300hp with Dayco belts. I would have to replace it just about every other oil change. I tried a Gates belt, and it did last longer, but nowhere as long as it should have.
All mine ran was the water pump and alternator as well.
I would look into Power Enterprise belts.

All I can suggest is to clean off your pulleys real well. I did that on my Subaru, and it made a world of difference.

problem is, toyota probably won't have a belt that size.... Its not going to be a stock belt since the alt is in place of the a/c

Engine HP output has no effect on the belts. Revs, maybe, but 7M's don't rev to high. I've never had a belt problem and I rev to 7200 fairly often.

Over tightening the belts will do that at, and higher rpm's will make it worse. Run into that problem alot with the mack trucks.

I you moved the alt. then your belt route maybe out of alignment. You may need the shim the alt. forward or backwards.
