i have been trying to get the "gremlins" out of my wiring for quite some time. heres what i got so far. i have no power going through my engine harness to +b. i have 12v at batt and ig. sw. from am2. i have replaced the efi main relay in the fuse box underneath of the hood. still nothing. i have been trying to look through my electrical diags and figure out where all +b runs through and i have found that it goes throught the circuit opening relay in the RH kick panel and the fuel pump relay in the engine cabin. the only thing that puzzles me is that i have fuel and the motor cranks but still. could it be something as stupid as a ground or am i supposed to get a 12 pack and spend some quality time with my multimeter? ive tried jumping 12v straight to the ecu, i am using an auto guage cluster and the light will not turn on. for a while the ect light would turn on and now it wont do it. im absolutely stumped! is there anyone out there to lend a hand or any helpful words of wisdom?

Okay ecu turns on +b with mrel. So maually jump the efi relay to make sure its wired in.

You have fuel during cranking because the relay has two coils. You'd have fuel during cranking even with no ecu. Make sense?

so you are saying jump 12v to the fuse box where the mrel is. if that is the problem then what would you say is the problem? i replaced the relay so it would have to be the wiring. ive tried doing a jumper wire from +b to batt on the ecu and i couldnt get the jumper wire to work. i could hear the relay clicking when i touched the wire but the ect light would not light up. when i turn the key in the ignition the ect light will flick on and then off immediately. im bout half tempted to skin the engine harness and trace the +b if i cannot find a simple solution.

Okay when the ecu sees voltage at the igsw pin it turns on the efi relay via the mrel pin. So if you indeed have power at igsw then either your ecu isnt turning on the efi relay (which is +b/b1 but also powers other stuff) or it isnt connected.
Got a voltmeter? Maybe it's the ecu?

I like helping :)

ive opened the ecu and i didnt see any burnt caps or anything that appeared broken. i think i may have tried running a jumper from the efi relay before. thats when u take a wire from the battery and run a jumper the black/orange wire right? i tried that before and the ect light never turned on. but just because there doesnt appear to be anything burnt on the ecu doesnt neccesarily rule it out right. at one point in time i had 12v to all wires for about 5 mins and then it went back to nothing. thats what has got me stumped. it used to be when i ran the jumper wire from batt to +b the ect light would turn on, then my battery died. i charged the battery and rehooked the jumper wire and now it dont turn on. could it also be possible for either the fuel pump relay or the circuit opening relay to be burnt? i seen in my diags that +b runs through both of them.

well problem solved....... i think. found a burnt cap on the ecu. after i find an ecu we will see what happens.
