Help Please....

This morning... when i tried to put my key into the truck key hole... it collapsed....:cry: OMG... I have the 89+ JDM taillights .... I had someone put them in for me.... :3d_frown: so i dont know how that part is attached well supposed to be attached in the back... can someone be so kind as to post pics of the back side so i can see it...

I would also be greatful :bowdown: for some suggestions as to how I might fix it....

oh... its my 86.5 White supra....so it was converted from the old tails to these JDM tails....

yes the latch works... had to open the truck... so i did it that way...

i just looks like the cylinder fell back....

like, the screws that hold it in place have come undone?
Pull off the triming and check.

The barrel holders are not the same for the two tails. Iirc there is a plastic holder that secures the locking cylinder to the clips on the '89+'s and its different for the 86.5's - '88's. I just use the release on the floor on mine, as the cylinder never did work too well (it just spins as its not secured properly) I think if you take it apart, you can probably screw a flexible piece of tin around it to hold it?

trimming? from back? its white sheet metal... last night i changed out the inside hatch plastic trim...

i think this is my problem here.... but how to take it apart... is that what those skinny looking screws are sticking out behind the plastic hatch trim?

where can i find that flexible piece of tin? and what shape size? should i take it all off and take it to what place to find that tin? any pics???

Now you have completely lost me, we are talking about the trim that covers the lock, I was saying did you remove it and take a look at the lock?

Sorry... the center plastic piece of the tails... 89+ JDM.... from what i saw... you have to take the entire thing off? or no?

I didnt install it so I am a little lost... i will have to go and take a look at it later...
