help! motor wont rev!

so i just finished my jdm motor swap on my 89 t today and fired her up. she ran great and idled like a champ. went to test drive it and she wont rev past 1500 rpms. every time it hits 1500 she bogs out. we were figures that the cps was bad and it was sending a singal to the ecu that the motor was raving high then it should. like hitting a rev limiter. so we tried a different cps and still no luck, it ran worse.

any one have any impu ton this?? what should i try.

Sounds like a boost leak to me

also check your TPS, unplug it quick and see if it revs, same thing hapenned to me 3 weeks ago. IF it runs better with the TPS unplug you'll need to calibrate and check your TPS per the TSRM, maybe you'll end up having to change it like me.

Same thing happened to me on one of my start ups.....boost leak - I missed tightening up a clamp and blew one of my hoses off.

make sure the afm is plugged in and working. A faulty/not connected AFM will give the same problem

it would rev if the tps was installed correctly, so make sure you have it right.
