HELP is my alt. dead?

Turbo/na are same, except manual trans=70 amp...automatic=80 amps. My cost for a reman is $125

BUt Did you check your engine fuse in your driver side kick panel if its gone or blown your alternator wont charge the battery

i didnt check that but when i replaced the Alt. everything was fine.
and the only difference between the N/A and turbo alts is the amps, like stated, and the shaft size for the pully, believe me i know! i needed to swap the pullys and that didnt go over to well.

I suggest Never disconnecting the Positive Battery Cable while a car is running ( Huge Spark) due to this is how sparks are created and batteries that may be leaking can explode.
The voltage regulator protects against voltage spikes, peakes. The proper way to test is this. Once the car is running, and at an idle, full battery charged or not, cautiously remove the Negative cable (way smaller Spark). If the engine dies the alternator has issues since it can't create enough electricity to keep the car running at an idle. If it keeps running the alternator is most likely fine and your battery has issues.

id still be nervious doing that. and if any others are nervious too, just take your battery and/or Alt. to most part stores and they'll check 'em for free.
