I bought some Tom Motorsport Gauges from Simann to tide me over till I can afford the Defi's I need to finish my collection... The quality appears fine but the instructions are ridiculous.

Check out box 6. Black obviously goes to ground, Green to the sensor, and Red to.... What? Constant? I don't know wtf that diagram means. I'm GUESSING Red to constant and orange to switched? or illuination?

Second mystery... both sensors (I bought water temp and oil pressure) have TWO terminals on them. box 7 makes me think that the sensor is going to be grounded simply by being installed into the block/therm housing... then wtf is the other terminal for? Ugh.

Any input?

I could be wrong but from what I see it goes to a fused 12v.. And it looks like there is a potentiometer wired in series to act as a dimmer for the gauge. So you would have the red wire hooked up to one pole on the dimmer and the other pole of the dimmer going to a fused power source.

And as for the grounding of the sensor, yes the block is grounded at certain locations. If you look around you will see lil ground points on your block.. I would imagine you just rune a wire from extra pole of the sensor to the ground point. I could be wrong, not knowing the schematic of the actual sensor. I deal with proximity sensors all the time at work and we usually have 3 poles (+24vdc, common, signal) and AC sensors are 110v common and ground.
