I found one near the battery. Use a test light with the key in the 'on' position to find a hot wire, then shut key off to check when it gets juice.
The relay won't draw much voltage to operate it. Use a direct battery hook up for the main juice thru the relay to feed the fan.

Try the fuse box use a test light and I think you should use a help of another person to make it easier check if there's a 12v signal on each fuse and the other person would turn the ignition on and off if the ignition is off and so is the test light then that's your source.

Why would you only want the fans on when the key is on?
Power the relay straight from the battery, and ground the relay with the factory AC fan switch on the thermo housing, then the fans come on thermostatically and actually maintain a temp.
