All lights come one except headlights. They pop up they go down...but now lights. Like i said everyother light comes on...the brakes lights are very dim though. Tested the power at the headlight plugs and there is none. Tested power at the fuse box and there is power coming in and not going out. Changed the fuse and still no go. Changed the fuse box and yet still no go. Anyone have anyother ideas.

starts right up and runs great. Im gonna try swappin out the whole headlight harness, since i have plenty lying around, and see if that works.
are there more headlight relays then the one under the hood in the fuse box? Is there one underneath the dash that i missed? I just swapped from a 7m to a 7mgte and didnt change the underdash harness or anything...just the motor harness and ECU. Could that affect the headlights?
there is a controller under the dash behind the driver kick. My old mk3 had headlight motor issues and when i opened it up, it was filled with water. Should be in a blue case and say retractor control or something along those lines

Check for power and ground at the headlamp bulb connectors and work your way back from there.
Also, if you switch to high beams does the little blue light on the dash light up?

no power at the headlight plugs, no dash light when brites are on. I am starting to think its the headlight switch.

Take a close look at the diagram and you will see that all the lights including the high beam indicater lamp share the same ground. You have a ground issue. The fact that your tail lamps are dim gives that away. Find the ground you forgot to hook up and you will be fine.
well we found a loose ground and fixed it and now the tailights are fine...now we just have to figure out why the headlights and also the foglights dont work. We will look for some more grounds or just add some.

i dont really now how to read schematics but my friend that im building the car with does so im sure we can figure it out now. Thanks for the help.
