I bought a shortblock from one of the members here on the forum and am now looking for a good MLS headgasket. The shortblocks specifications are the following:
1- Forged weisco pistons with coated skirts .20 over
2- Eagle rods
3- ALL clevett bearings
4- BRAND NEW OIL PUMP With extended pick up tube for better oil pressure
5- -8 AN fittings/steel braided line feeding the oil pump!
6- Has a crank scraper !!
7- All arp hardware
8- Polished/balanced crank
9- Block was decked, hot tanked, line honed, new freeze plugs.

My question is since the pistons were done .20 over does the headgasket's bore change? I have looked at different headgaskets from Cometic, HKS, and Greddy and i have seen that they range from 84mm to 86mm. The headgasket on there right now is a Cometic 2mm in thickness with the stock bore. Im going to machine the head for the second time and don't want to risk detonation. What size in thickness and bore should get? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i think you read it wrong

The bore will be 83mm stock...if you've bored out aka made the diameter bigger in the combustion chamber then you need a bigger bore headgasket. Every 40 thousandths of an inch (0.040") is 1mm bigger. If you bored it 80 over (0.080) then you need a 85mm bore headgasket at least.

20 over is .020

or .5mm.

edit: stock is 83mm so if your 20 over you will be fine with either 84mm or 86mm.
