I'm would like to hook up the head light washers for my "90" as you guys know, it didn't come with it. I would like to hook it up so that it only works when the head lights are up,..or when the head lights are on, If I hook it up only when the head lights are in the "up" position, will there still be voltage in the relay after it the head lights are "up"?
How is are the pre "89"s hook up? Don't the headlight washers work at the same time the windshield washerwork??

Thanks, it's a nerdy question, I know!!

To control when they function, just install a NO relay which closes when the headlights are on. It's simple, you connect one side of the coil to the low beam wire and the other side to ground.

In cars with headlight washers, they have a switch for it, and they only work with the headlights up.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your help, I guess I didn't know that the washer only work when the head lights are up, since it didn't come stock, I didn't know, I thought for sure it also worked when you hit the windshield washer,I guess I'm wrong. since it didn't come stock then where do you hook up the "hot wire"? I already have the factory in dash botton, I just don't where the hot wire goes....relay?? low beam circut??? where??

Thanks,.."D"

NO = Normally Open. When power is applied to the coil then it closes and current flows through the switch side. When the power is removed the switch opens.
