I am in the process of swapping a 7mgte into my n/a. The harness currently on the engine is cut near the ecu and it seems the best option is to just buy a new one (I started a thread about splicing half of another harness onto the existing one, and that seems to be too much of a headache). My question is, if the car is a '91 n/a and I'm swapping in a '91 engine with a '91 harness, will the plugs on the ecu end of the harness that go to the dash match the plugs that are in the car? The half of a grey plug '89 harness that I have does not match.

Thanks,
Dan

if your dash has yellow plugs, you need a harness with yellow plugs (pre 89), if the dash has grey plugs, you need a harness with grey plugs(post 89), and you need the correct ecu to match (yellow or grey), that way everything is completely plug and play

just went through all of this.. weird part about mine, is the gray plug ecu and the ecu plugs were gray, that all worked out.. the big middle square plug doesn't seem to line up with the dash plug... very odd.. but ^ should work like Cy said.. lol
