got my supra!!!! I love this beast. I picked her up 6 hours away and drove back with ease.. Cruise crontrol even works!! Had one scare tho.. 4 hours into drive the heat gauge was flucuating. I thought to myself "I just bought a fuking BHG!!" pulled over filled rad with water and no probs since (400 kms) Anything I should check to make sure It does'nt happen again? I was thinking just a rad flush and changing the thermostat. Also a clunk noise comes from rear end (tranny, diff, driveshaft area) when Im drivng along and let of the gas fast. My friend thinks its the tranny mounts. Any ideas?

Oh yea.. Just wondering if this is normal too.. the stock bov I thought was not loud at all. When im shifting the bov is pretty loud. I read somewhere if you disconnect a hose into the atmosphere u can get the bov sound. Only mod is the K&N fipk.

Rad is 2 year old. 5 speed.

check and see if the front of the radiator is blocked?

your driveshaft cv joint could be going bad or is already

No pics yet. will get some soon tho.

One more question? on the stock boost gauge where should it be maxing out if it were stock? should it be going up to "4" or is stock boost lower? I know its 6-7 psi but i dont know what the hell the measurment is on the stock gauge

Don't want to drown your enthusiasm, but i have the same fluctuation occasionally in my N/A, sure it's ok and i just add water to the radiator, but fact of the matter is you most definitely either have a BHG or Air in the system. If i were you, i'd start by burping the system (raise front of car as high as you can, start with a cold engine, turn heat on max, and slowly add water as the thermostat cycles and burps air each time)

I'd keep a close eye on your coolant level (in the radiator, not overflow bottle!) If it doesnt go away, i'd proceed with a leak down test, to determine a BHG, and a coolant pressure test, because it could just be a small hole letting air in!

As far as stock boost, it should be about 8-9 psi (mind you i've never driven a perfectly functioning turbo supra.. that'll change veeery soon)
But, like everything i've said in this post, take the stock boost gauge's reading with a grain of salt, and consider investing in a aftermarket one (preferably electronic! For bling and accuracy ;) )

Welcome to the Supra world, these cars definitely are the shit!!!
