Sequential engines only fire the injector in the firing order. Batch fires in groups of two or more. The injector fires when the intake valve is closed. And again when it opens.

This all sounds a lot like spark plug selection. I was using some expensive iridium's for a short time and had to replace them because they would not perform under boost for me. They did however idle my 7M extremely smooth. When I went to cheap autolites it fixed the boost issue, possibly because of my ability to correctly gap the normal style electrode. I did however notice an idle stumble that is described at best as being smooth for a period and missing every 3-5 seconds, resulting in the threads description as a 'bump'.
