Hey all, like the title says I got a free set of brembo's off an friend and I have a couple of questions regarding them. He said they needed to be rebuilt and id agree but I have no experience with rebuilding calipers. I know this isnt supra specific but id like some input on the subject. My question for rebuilding them is there is a light scratch in the cylinder of one of the pistons. There is a pic below:

I can barely feel the scratch, but im still worried about it. Anyone have any luck fixing a scratch like this? Is it worth trying to fix? maybe this is why i got them for free lol

I was quoted 150 to have my rear evo 8 brembos rebuilt on the evo forums by a vendor who powder coats and rebuild calipers

This is kind of odd, The Brembo's I'm used to do not have dust boots, they have an o'ring with 2 backup rings as a seal. If you can't feel the scratch I'd leave it. Trying to blend it will change the size of the orifice and affect sealing of the piston the rest of the way around.
