On a fairly new corolla... just curious what you guys think these things should be changed at... Obviously if you grind gears all day, the gearbox oil should probably be changed quite often. But how about coolant?

The dealer obviously says these should be "inspected" @ 60,000 miles, meaning changed, right? (they aren't called the stealership for nothing) I'm planning to change these fluids myself @ 60,000 mi. just to be on the safe side, but I was curious if anyone had any input on this.

Can't go wrong following the owner's manual for maintenance schedule. Just be honest with yourself on driving conditions and habits.

That said, with a good oil and filter, you can go a LOT longer than the manufacturer's recommendation. Not sure if the same applies to other fluids though. I'd recommend reading up on the Oils, Fluids, and Lubricants sub-forum in the tech section, a lot of good info in there.
