I am currently swaping in a JDM 7mgte into a 87 supra NA. The gte came with a harness and no ecu. The car had a blown engine and the old owner gathered a gte ecu to do a gte swap but never got it done.

My question is the harness that came with the JDM gte engine has different ecu connectors than the gte ecu that I have, it seems that the gte connectors are for 90+ and my ecu is 87ish. How do I find out where the terminals are supposed to go into the ecu so I can rewire the harness. I have the know how to do this but I dont know which terminal positions the circuits are supposed to go into the ecu.

If anyone can get me a link to a terminal pinout diagram or something along those lines it would be really helpful. Ive noticed scematics for 90+ cars have the ecu terminal pinout, but I cant find it for the older ecu. Thanks.

Everything I have ever read about these swaps usually turns into a nightmare. The end result of every one of them has been to source a correct chassis ECU and engine harness. The only thing I know is that power sourcing for the later models changes as well as TPS. I havent been able to source any other changes.

I actually found exactly what I need in the alldata database. tells me what every terminal on the ecu is for and now I can wire my harness accordingly. I wish I could post up the diagram but I dont have a scanner handy and the page is not linkable.

I have found 'Somedata' to be extremely hit and miss when it comes to wiring pin-puts and diagrams. I wish you all the luck and hope it works out for your good.
