gasket kit

i'm ready to order the gasket kit for my engine but i'm not sure if i should go oem or not...i mean i know oem is the best but any others that can compare?$310 for gaskets aint so cheap and half the after market ones you see are less than half the price.I dont mind spending the cash for reliability, but if something else compares for much less, i'll take it...

i got one of the eristic gasket kits from ebay. i'm not using the headgasket front or rear mains, but for $50 or whatever it was, it's a pretty good deal.

the mains will be oem and wil be an aftermarker mhg. as for the rest of them i would say they're all about the same quality

Don't buy the low quality ebay gasket kit. Get Mr. Gasket, Felpro, or OEM Toyota. Do it once do it right. Ask me how I know.

care to elaborate? was it a cheap headgasket or main bearing?

No egr cooler gasket. Bad exhaust manifold gasket that blew in all of one month. Horrible intake manifold gaskets (probably fine as long as you don't have a turbo) And many of the gaskets came in pre-cracked like the w-pump and tb gasket. O yea they give you a cork oil pan gasket......need I say more?

Anyone ever used the Yonaka Motorsports kit? They have one for 120 through a couple of performance shops out west. they're kit doesn't come with as much as the felpro kit, but doesn't cost as much either. Any thoughts, opinions, or reviews?

i would use felpro..But. i used the eristic kit and its been working fine for like 7k miles..I even just replaced my HG with the one that came with the kit but have yet to start it up yet. I used turbo gaskets,ex.man. gasket, IM gaskets,valve cover gaskets, front and rear seal and cam seals. All are working fine..Only mistake i made was using a cork pan gasket..Dont use that.
Oh yea and my JDM motor doesnt have egr so u didnt use any of those gaskets so i cant tell ya anything about that.

Hell no! I had to buy them from my local parts store...all felpro

i would use felpro...

Good advice if you dont want to use factory.
