FYI on RPS 3200 lbs pressure plate

RPS no longer sales the dual diaphragm rps 3200 lbs. pressure plate for the r-154. They just sale the single. It is rated at 600 ft lbs according to rps. I purchased mine from titan motorsports and was told that it was rated still at 730 ft lbs after talking directly to rps. According to titan it is rated at 730 ft lbs before with the dual diaphragm and the same with the single diaphragm. So if you purchase one be sure to find out if its the dual diaphragm which is rated at 670 ft lbs according to rps or the single diaphragm at 600 ft lbs.

I and others I know have actually had good luck with this setup. We've had a few rebuilt by RPS and always have the dual diaphragm pinned (My RPS CC was pinned and rebalanced when I last had the trans out). Clutch pedal has always felt good (albeit a little stiffer than stock when new, but stock is mush in comparison to most other performance vehicles). The clutch hydraulics must be in good shape too, no 150k city mile old ones that have never been flushed.

Bypassing the neutral start switch is a must with any upgraded clutch on these motors.

We do it on all the MKIV's for the same reason.

I thought this was common sense with most cars in general? I know I've done it on any cars I've had...

I don't like pressing the clutch to start any car. I bypass the switch and before starting, instead of pressing the clutch, I just jiggle the shifter to make sure I am not in gear.

I just make sure all of my bushings are good because I was in an AE86 once and the shifter, in gear, was loose like how ours is when it is in neutral.

Pretty much anything with a heavy PP is a good idea.
