Full DM IC Kit or TB Intake Pipe

Greetings! I'm hoping to install a new HKS BOV and I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I was looking at something like this : https://www.cxracing.com/KIT-7MGTE-TB-SET but at roughly a third of the cost of a full Intercooler kit from driftmotion...should I just save up for the kit?

An HKS BOV quality is going to be better than the China BOV that comes with the DM Kit. I think the piping from the DM kit is ok but have read the IC itself is trash. That DM kit is the same as the cheap kits you see on Ebay.

I spoke with Aaron and he assured me its a 'simple drop in replacement that doesn't require bumper removal' is that consistent with anyone elses experience?

Why a BOV?

I thought Supras needed a bypass valve since the MAF has already accounted for air that has entered the system.

If you run a BOV it needs to be recirculated unless you have an aftermarket ecu. If you don't recirculate you may stall as you come to a stop. I have been running a blitz BOV for 15 years and it's never been recirculated and have never really had any issues. Will stall once in a blue moon. If you are keeping things relatively stock best bet is to drop a Bosch BOV in the oem location so its recirculated.

Fully acknowledged. I'll attribute my ignorance to the fact that this is my 2nd mk3, my first one I owned as a 19 year old and ran an HKS BOV venting to atmosphere with 3" exhaust and intake, never experienced stalling issues. Was I just lucky?
