Fuel pump replacement..3 wire hanger?

Got my new(used) western tank , hanger assembly...there are 2 blue wires and 1 ground on the hanger.1 blue just goes to a resistor? on the backside of the bracket..My car is an 88,,,think hanger is 90 up?Can i use a walbro 255 and just use 2 wires?...should i stick with stock till i get it running?..is the 12v mod neccessary?

I don't think I quite understand when people say drill out the J-tube.

Couldn't you just not run lines to it?

Or is there a benefit to drilling it out?

If anyone can post pics and an explanation, that would be very nice

Yes you can bypass it altogether or you can drill it out. Either works.

The j-tube has a small hole on 1 end to act as a back up regulator incase the main fpr fails.
