i've been searching for about an hour can't find anything

i seen the things about cleaning off the coil inside the box and yadda yadda yadda, and bending the arm and all that stuff off of SOGI

i did that and it didn't work

well now i put a sending unit AND gas gauge from the same car that had a working gauge and it STILL doesn't work

it just sits at empty and jumps up and down every now and then

what could it be now???? the whole entire wire needs to be replaced?

any help would be appreciated

chase the signal wire. make sure it isnt broken or cut. that could be your problem. if the signal wire was "shorted" the gauge would max out. tyo many people use the term shorted for the wrong reason. if you are sure that your gauge ad sending unit works, youll have to chase the wiring. its a very simple circut to diagnose.

frayed so only a few wires are hitting every now and then, sending the signal. boo5t3d is right, simple circuit to check.

where does that wire run???

all the way under the chassis or does it come up into a body harness where i need to rip out body panels and everything else to chase it?
