ok my fuel gauge is not working. just one day after driving was sitting at 1/2 a tank, then i didnt drive it for a while and it got broken into and the radio riped out and the gauge was sitting at 1/4 tank after driving it home the next morning i filled it up and the gauge didnt move. i swapped cluster and it did nothing, so what could it be? I have checked the connections too.

You might have to take the fuel sending unit out and clean it. Theres a thread about that around here i cant seem to find it.

I have a similar problem with my fuel guage too. I'll be driving and the gauge will read 1/4 then a mile down it'll read half tank or even 3/4 wtf!? But then it just drops back down. This problem is quite common with my supra.

BTW i did this a while ago, still isnt perfect but it works a LOT better now. Does a full sweep, can even see changes with slight slopes

Does it go to 3/4 and take a while for it to move down from there? or does it start dropping after you start driving a little bit? Reason i ask is the needle on the gauge might need repositioning or the potentiometer in the gas tank might not be contacting when fuel is full, depending on which of those 2 problems you face.

ok i did all that and it didnt work, did some other testing and it must be broken wires between the tank and the gauge. but i got the light to work so ill just roll like that till i get around to fixing it. {lazy} but i took pics for all thoes that wanted em. in my next post.
