Okay so the fuel door on this supra that I just bought is having a hard time opening when I pull on the lever inside the car. Any way to get the door to open and how do i go about replacing the cable that connects to it?

My cable stopped working many years ago. I replaced the whole mechanism with a nice solenoid. Now I just push a button and the door pops open. WOOHOO!

It might not be the cable, mine has a problem with the hinge, it was bent, now the door does not sit right, the door has moved further aft when closed. I have ordered replacement door from Jeff at champion.

this is what has happened to mine.

Mine works, off and on, so whenever it doesn't feel like opening, I just pull it open. :biglaugh:

With mine it was hit and miss. So I just bent the metal spring out a little more, since they can compress over the years, and now mine really "POPS" open.
