Well took my tranny out because it was making a ticking nosie, I was going to replace the throw out bearing because thats what I was told could be making it.

Well they sent me the wrong one, so I started putting everything back on when I noticed a lot of metal shavings in the shifter tray thingy...looks like there was a plate there that broke into pieces...scary:cry: .

any ideas on how it happened or what to do?

Put your car on jack stands.

Drain old fluid out of trans into clean pan.

Inspect for debris.

Install drain plug.

Pour one qt of kerosene and 2 qts of ATF fluid down the hole.

Start car.

Put car in 3rd gear and idle for about 30 minutes with you behind the wheel.

Drain into clean pan.

Inspect for debris.

Do this process with clean fluid each time untill you are debris free.

Its not a "propper" fix, but it will help you get down the road untill you can get another trans or have that one rebuilt.
