Anyone have it? Played it? I've played the demo at Wal-Mart but can't really go by that. I really want to know if it has good cars in it. Just finished playing gT4 at my buddy's and I dont have PS2. I want to get a car game now.

I have played both extensively and have researched specs on both. They both come with respective strengths and also weakness. My friend actually owns Japanese market PS2 and he bought GT4 before it was available stateside. Hard to guess menus when in japanese. The physics engines on both are excellent but due to available horse power The Forza actually has superior physics modeling with Forza performing 3-4 times more computations per second. I think things like fluid sloshing in fuel tanks is even simulated :icon_excl The primary deficiency of Forza is lack of number of cars i.e. with BMW you can only get BMW Motorsport vehicles and not very many at that. No 2002, absent M3 , M coupe ect GT4 has these. To give you an Idea there are 47 Toyotas in GT4 and 28 in Forza however it has the most important one :sonic: . There is also a lack of fidelity with certain cars. When was the last time you saw a 1970 Ford Mustang BOSS 429 with ABS, traction control or gasp stability management? There are some other disappointments like no multiplayer replay. However I have many a enjoyable hour playing it. The big disapiontment with GT4 is the lack of damage modeling.

Forza is weaksauce. physics engine is terrible. just because it has body kits and engine swaps doenst make it better than GT4 ._.
I've played both and the physics are pretty close. Gt4 is so overrated it's not even funny body kits and engine swaps has very little to do with enjoying a game. I enjoy the overall feel of the game, more licenses is nice but enjoyment is better. Damage rulllllzzz!!! :naughty:

Well I bought it and I like it alot. I've played gt4 at my buddys house since I don't have PS2. Even though Forza has less cars I think its because Forza doesn't have A Model T. and other speciallty cars that no one would really ever race with. The upgrading of cars in both games is somewhat limited. I do like the motor swap feature tho'. I put a 2j in my Altezza its pretty sick, I also have an S14 with an RB26 in her. Its a cool feature. The bodykits are ok. At least they are actually real kits that are availible and not some crazy lookin kits like NFSU.

The only thing that botherd me about Forza was that I couldnt drop a 2jz in the MKIII but I could drop a K series honda motor in a lil civic hatch.

meh, how much do you think the designers actually know about mk3s? The mk3 model looks a little off. I have both, and i must say that GT4 bores the crap out of. Ya well its simulation right? Somehow if i wanted that much simulation, ide drive my own car. Endurance races are gay, the game is no fun i cant even change the colour of my car. Forza is way more fun, it gets boring too, and i wish they had more courses. Its about damn time someone had actual body damage too.

Forza>GT4 for me, in terms of fun factor.

I still love txr3 too.

wtf? you can change everything about the car save for body mods in GT4...

Don't get me wrong, I think both games are awesome. But the modifications seem a little too generic. I think both games would be better if each mod was car specific. I.E. Stage 2 turbo kit. Would be better if Greddy TD06 for the MKIII Supra. I do prefer Forza over GT4 tho'.

are you really that worried about brand names on something like the turbo? :dunno: it wouldnt change anything about the gameplay. which is paramount to me. if all those little bells and whistles of name brands and kits and stuff are cool, then i guess i can see why you like forza better

Both are good games, but I give the nod to forza.

as a simulation, I dont give a rats ass if GT is minutely better in terms of realism, since it falls flat on its face the first time you hit a wall doing 100 and just bounce off.
fuck that.

Forza is good enough that I went out and bought it.
thats impressive not only because Im a total cheapass, but also since I dont own an Xbox.
