Alright I am currently swapping my 887mgte into a 5spd and I have found a good deal on a w58 now I know it's not that strong of a tranny but how long will this last and what amount of power is it really capable of handling safely.

here is a list of my mods

60-1
2.5 ic piping
fmic
3in turbo back (no cat)
hks f-con
fcd
hks bov
255 fuel pump

and I plan on getting 550's and lex afm soon

thanks for the help

The W58 can handle a stock 7M-GTE's power, but you're going beyond that so just get the R154 and save yourself the problems.

Also, here's some differences between the both: W58 vs. R154
Edit: Parts need to be matched, i.e. using a W58 = using a W58 drive shaft, etc.

Yep, you'd need the wings, flywheel, clutch, driveshaft...

It would be cheaper in the long run to just go with the stronger tranny instead of doing it all twice...
