I work at Gerber Collision. We recently repaired an 05 Mitsubishi Evo that was hit in the front. Anyways the insurance company paid to have the front mount intercooler replaced even though the one on the car was fine. So I decided hey I'll just take this one home and see what I can do about fitting it on my car (mkIII supra turbo targa top, all stock). My question is what do I need in order to get this intercooler to fit? I still have the stock intercooler hooked up and have noticed the piping is located on the same side, unlike the evo front mount. Is there a piping kit that I can get to install this unit or should I just sell it and save for an intercooler kit. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

most likely custom mounting will be involved, as far as piping goes measure the outside diameter of the intercooler inlet/outlet and go to ebay and get a intercooler piping kit. such as this one

you have to mess around a cut the piping to fit correctly. Measure twice cut once.
Driftmotion also sells a kit that is better then the ebay ones, but you will pay a little more and they have 2.5",2.75", and 3"

Good luck

:dunno:If there is nothing wrong with your stock one...I would just leave it alone. For all the headache of customizing brackets, clamps, silicone bends, joints to align everything up, its not worth the time and money, your stocker should be sufficient to hold your power, unless your going for looks...
