My dash lights for the battery, brake lights and door would all flicker every now and then and it is getting pretty annoying.

Could this possibly be a bad ground connection? Any ideas where I should start? Also, how do I check each one and what tools do I need for this?

Thanks for the help.

couln't you explain in details, please?
I have such issue: everything ok when engine idles or runs till 3K RPMs... But when I rev past 3K, dash lights (e-brake, CE..) gradually turn on (more brightly at higher RPM).

This problem appeared when I relocated battery to the trunk.
So, any ideas?

This happens when the car (90T) is running and nothing seems to be wrong with the engine whenever the lights would flicker. Just last night I noticed that the brake light would come on and would go off if I down shift from 5th to third and then come back on again when I go back to 5th. :icon_mad:

Is this when the car is running? Do you notice anything happening with the engine when it happens? Turbo / non turbo? Here is a schematic of the dash stuff on a 90 turbo: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/mk3/manual.aspx?S=D&P=7 (more on the next page).

are you sure it's the door light?

Unfortunately, I dont have the car with me right now. I was looking for an actual dash pic that I saw stickied on sf before under mk3 faq but its not showing up now, so I wish someone here has any link to one.

sounds like when the regulator in the alternator is going out...

Suppose to be a brand new alternator. The car used to be owned by Steve aka NJSupraA70.

Drove the car today and while driving, these dash lights are the ones that would flicker:
  • E-brake on, or low brake fluid level
  • Tail light failure indicator
  • Battery light
The e-brake is down and the reservoir for the brake fluid is full. The battery is 1.5 yrs old and the car is driven about once every 7-10 days.

Any ideas???

hmmm... forgot if those where the three lights..

I thought it was the CEL, brake, and battery light...

Try swapping the alt and see if it goes away, they MIGHT find it if they test the alt at a parts store...

Keep in mind if the regulator goes out it could cause some serious damage, even possible fire, so dont screw around with it...
