A couple weeks ago i took my 1987 supra 7mgte to the 1/4 dragstrip. I have apexi intake, BIC 3" downpipe, custom catback 3" exhaust(with stock cat), and mbc at 8 psi.
Let me know what you think about my time.

yea. I was hoping to get into the 14's but i guess not. I did 8 runs and this was on my 7th. My struts are currently bad so after replacing them i plan on doing a highflow cat and ic with hardpipes and hopefully get into the 14's!

your 60ft is decent for a 1st time.
my 60ft was horrible( like consistant 2.6, 2.7) and i would always bog because i was launching way way too low.
my 1/4 was like high 14s i think fastest was 14.7 at 97mph(rev limit 3rd gear)

this is with a stock 1jz, filter, catback, walbro. Not even a MBC

Your 60 ft is great for a first timer. The first time at the track with the supra for me I ran a 14.1@96mph with a 2.0, this was with 8 psi and stock IC with a 3" exhaust. The stock IC will be fine for what you are doing. Get a MBC and turn the boost up to 10-11 psi and run next time with an open DP and you'll be in the 14's for sure.

I have a mbc but im worried about turning it up because i dont have a metal headgaket. The previous owner had a new head gasket put on right before i bought it(2 years ago). But its just a stock gasket.

If the stock hg is torqued properly, 11psi is not going to hurt it...........as long as it's a good running engine.

keep at it, and practice on your launch. remember 1/10th in 60' generally equals 2/10th quicker in et.

first time or not, 15.1 and a 91.5mph trap means slow driving. the 2.2 60' isnt half bad, but with those mods low 14s are deff. attainable.

as long as the motors not stock drive it hard and dont be afraid to rev it out.

I just took my car to the track for first time ever! :)
Weird, because my first run ever with this car was my best run.

Mods: 3" turbo back exhaust with one straight through muffler, HKS SSQV BOV, shimmed wastegate @ 8psi, 18" rims

Not a bad first time run at all. What wheel / tire combo are you running? full interior? spare tire?

I had full interior with no spare tire. Im on sawblades with basic street tires( lol cant remember the brand right now im brain dead and just got home from street racing:evil2:) I didn't have any traction problems. My turbo may need a rebuild... i blow black or blue smoke sometimes at WOT and have some shaft play:3d_frown:.
