I'm having trouble finding a machine shop that has a 7m torque plate. No one with in 2 hours has one. How important is the torque plate? Anyone got any suggestions?

Just make sure its aluminum. Unless what I read was incorrect, it has to be made from the same material as the head.. I don't know.. from what I have been reading its a lot of R&D for a shop to develop one, so I don't know what all goes in to it.. but thats why no one has one or will make one for just one job. :dunno:
I talked to a guy that just had one made for his build. It's almost 500$

So, I haven't sent anything off to the machine shop yet, nad I started thinking about maybe doing a 1jz swap. Can this be done for 5000$. I was reading these posts ans it seems that these guys are just dropping the motor in w/out a rebuild!? Is this accurate? Are the internals on the jz forged. As always any other thought would help too.
i wouldnt do the swap if i were u i think that would be a waste of a good engine in my opion u should stick with the 7M it will have better tourque over the JZ and parts are a lot esier to find unless u have a shop that can order u parts cosedering the JZ is a JDM motor u will have a harder time finding parts then the 7M
Yeah, I've just been doing a lot more searching on the threads, and I'm noticing that. I think If i could pull some big number out of my 7m it would be more respectable.
