FF3 works great for me. Google is a revenue machine, so watch out for data-mining. Remember the last "helpful" product they put out? If it works great, awesome for you guys. I'll hold back and wait a little bit.

agreed. as for the rest of u with FF3 having issues, wth? I have never had an issue with FF3 on any of my computers. Odd..... looks nice but well see how it shakes out

Wow, Google Chrome is pretty good and loads up very fast. I downloaded it earlier today and have been using it ever since. Firefox 2 was great, but I have had nothing but problems with Firefox 3 like many of you. Constant crashing, pdf's not opening, plugins like WMA and other well known ones not working. I'll be sticking with this Chrome now.

I have never had FF3 crash on me.

Not once. Not on any of my personal systems.

I do like this Chrome, but it's a fair bit overrated with regards to the 15% extra real estate. The ONLY difference (I can post pics to prove it, if you want) between my FF3 and Chrome as far as real estate goes, is the Windows Title Bar.

And yeah, don't forget Opera, people ;)

Never had FF3 crash either (on any home or work machines).

Status bar at the bottom is different as well - but I agree, my FF setup was pretty sparse, so I don't really think 15% is accurate.

Hopefully an option will come along to shrink the Chrome tabs - I definitely don't need them anywhere near that big.

the 15% was a huge overesitmated guesstimate on my part, sorry about that, I was just really trying to explain in my own "aw'd" wording how much more viewing space I seemed to have on my 19" LCD. It made a huge differnce in my eyes. A huge selling point? No, just one of a a few little things i like alot about it.

Nothing wrong about the browser that FF came out of, and FF tends to get ideas from cough(page preview) cough.

Besides, I don't see how you can get much more room than this

well...you use google chrome. lol. it has considerably more space. not a ton, but check out some screenshots, it is smaller. much like F11 on FF or IE like was said earlier

the first thing i really noticed to be positive IS the extra space. I like that It has the space of FF3 when F11'd, but i can still see my start bar, rather than it being hidden. plus I dont know if I really dig menus that hide. I could see some people liking that ultimate full-screen experience, ;) but I dont really need it.

Anything to avoid the lag and image ghosting on firefox, i'll take. and i like google stuff. this isn't spectacular, but for a beta, it seems nice. Howcome FF3 screws up so much for so many? hah, maybe google hacked the code so people like us would be fed up right about the time Chrome go online.

I thought it was just me and my in-need-of-help computer that i haven't re-installed windows on since...purchase - years ago.

I'll have to check back once i use it for more than an hour. one thing that will take getting used to is the lack of a taskbar at the top for file/edit/tools/bookmarks and junk. Not that i use it much, but when I do, looking at the top left for it obviously messes with my habits.

HAH! And it has a really nifty resize option for the 'Reply to thread' dialog box!
I hope this spell checker is better than FF too.
WOOHOO! ALT S works too!

I never knew ALT s EXISTED!! ...kinda neat. Extending the text box - i've been waiting for that kind of ability for some time, i HATE small text entry boxes. It works best in advanced reply mode. :D :D

text search and download features are nice. downloads can be paused and any downloads you add show up at the bottom of your screen so you can monitor their stats without crap in the way.

so far no glitches. :) and the bookmarks bar, i just discovered...easily hides and unhides with ctrl+b

tab organizing and tab-to-window and vise-versa are nice and clean w/no lag. nice graphics show the page as you drag it around.

no website load progress but it does say when its attempting to connect and a when it's still working.

I like it so far, it has all the basics i could want and hasn't given my any issues like firefox.

AND it has the option to remember your tabs for next session. can't remember if firefox does that without an extension, i dont think it does.

features online tell me each tab runs independently too so if there IS a glitch, it won't kill EVERYTHING like opening a PDF could in firefox.

so far I don't really use the feature that remembers frequently-visited sites so you can click them when you open a new tab. i'd like to set those myself, like the firefox app that looks similar...

Safari has been show to be the fastest...but I don't like it personally.

by far the worst browser ever. When we image macs for art students at my school, we dont put safari on the dock, only FF
