Feels like a grinding bearing?

When I start up from a stop, when cold only, gently getting her rolling, I feel a grinding type feeling. My mech couldn't feel it, but the wife can.
It's an auto. Seems like it only does it on the first roll or two from a stop. After she warms up, it goes away..
We put it on a lift and tried a lot of things, but couldn't reproduce the grinding...
Any thoughts?

brakes (normal and e-brake) or bearing...

I'm better brakes as the sliders like to sieze...

hmm, I ALWAYS set the parking brake... Could that be dragging??
It's not a separate brake is it? (I hope that doesn't sound stupid) Doesn't the E-Brake just tighten one of the rear brakes?

Sheesh, it just occurred to me that I don't know a ting about the brakes  :1zhelp:

E-brake is a drum style brake inside of the rear disks, and is not part of the brake system used when you apply the pedal. Does it get louder or go away if you turn a corner? If you turn right, you apply more pressure to the left wheels, and take pressure off the right ones, to a degree. So if the left wheel bearing is going bad, it'll get louder. If the right wheel bearing is going out, it'll get quieter. Most of the time...

Is it a shudder? You'd feel the car shudder(like a vibration), and hear grinding.
