Favorite Horror Movies

Well, it's almost Halloween again and I thought it would be cool to hear what everyones favorite horror/gore flicks are. I personally love a good zombie flick, but some of the cheesey classics are great too. My favorite horror/gory movies would be:

1. Evil Dead 1&2 - Big fan of Bruce Campbell/Sam Raimi
2. Resident Evil - Even the game scared me a couple times!
3. 28 Days Later - Great modern take on zombie flicks
4. Poltergeist - Clowns are freaky!
5. Dead Alive - Great gore fest! Guy cuts up dozens with a lawnmower!
6. Cannibal the Musical - From the creators of South Park...funny.
7. Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead - Classic zombies
8. Alien
9. Cube - more psi-fi gore than horror, but very good IMO
10. House of 1000 Corpses

but anyways,

Killer Clowns from Outer Space (I fucking hated clowns after this movie, and they wrapped you in cacoons of cotton candy and ate you later)

Signs (great movie, more suspense as I don't like gore that much, but watching it again was....dull)

What Lies Beneath (was pretty damn good)

The Mothman Prophecies (was just plain weird and good)

not a huge fan of gore though, as I like storylines, and most gore movies are seriously lacking in them (oh wow, guy wanders off, wonder if he's gonna die....yep he's dead)

EDIT:

From Dusk Till Dawn (rocked)

Hellraiser series was cool

Puppetmaster I think it was, not sure but I remember the odd metal nballs he put in people's heads, was pretty freaky

While i agree that Aliens: Special Edition is an excellent film, its not very scary. It's an action film. Alien, the original, is however, what i would deem to be quite simply the best sci-fi horror ever. It's terrifying. It defined the space/horror genre, and since its release, no one has been as successful in implementation as Ridley Scotts masterpiece.

Poodles: You're thinking of Phantasm - the first two of which are just incredibly freaky and hide-behind-the-sofa kinda freaky at that...

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorites! Another decent funny one is Dead and Breakfast.

The Shining! "Redrum! Redrum!" That movie was great.
