Today when I went outside to greet the beautiful weather I saw something not so good
on my supra. The fuel was pouring out of the filler cap.
The way my supra was parked made it possible for the sun to shine directly at the
fuel tank and heat up the contents.
My only ventilation was a universal fuel cap with a hole in it.
Unfortunately, the filler neck does not connect to the highest point in the fuel tank.
I filled up the fuel tank yesterday so the little air that was at the highest point
got heated and expanded which pushed the fuel up through the filler neck.
Once the first drops of fuel passed the filler cap, the self draining started.
The paintwork was only temporary, but I was hoping that it would be me who
removed the paint.

I drove the car to my garage and got it up on jackstands.
I will take this opportunity to fix some other stuff as well.

I'm not one to waste any time, so I started right away.
The todo list is pretty long, but the main things to correct are:
Oil system
Exhaust manifold studs
Install IAT and EGT sensor

I can now install an IAT and EGT sensor.

Time to get a leak free connection between the head and exh. manifold.
I used the stud kit from driftmotion.
As soon as I started the drill I started sweating, I was really nervous.
But I got it to work :)
I left the stud closest to the firewall since it seamed good and was
not loose at all.

I removed some more parts from my engine.
I will clean the injectors in a ultrasonic cleaner and I will bypass the
waterlines going through the throttle and IAC.

I made some progress with the oil system today and installed my new thermostat
and re-did the oil lines between the thermostat and oil cooler.
When I mounted my oil filter I noticed that it was leaning a bit...the threaded
part in it was crooked :S Thankfully I had I bought an extra filter which was fine.

My oil system is now completed.
I modified the tow hook with a piece of metal so it's now a mount for my filter mount.
There are sensors for pressure and temp installed in the thermostat.

I have also installed my turbo setup together with my newly wrapped downpipe.

Perhaps some of you noticed that all my pictures went away for awhile?
The picture host I'm using went bankrupt and shut down. But there's a new owner and the host is back and so are the pictures.

Although I'm still considering using premium membership from photobucket. Is there anyone here using that?
I want premium because of the ftp upload, but do I still have to log in to the page and click on each picture to get the link needed to post the pics in forums?

I also got a package today :)
It was from elmhurst toyota containing all the freeze plugs and the bearings for the oilpump driveshaft.

Me and a friend was out making the streets a bit more unsafe :p
He had a problem with a IC-pipe and I had problems with missfire above 0,5Bar of boost.

I took the block off plate I did before and added a piece of stainless steel pipe with
the TIG.

Since I'm writing this now in January I don't remember the exact date when this happened.

I broke my engine :(
My supra has been running great during the whole summer. I have driven it everyday.

But after I installed my MS3 I had a little problem, I had misfires over 100 kPa and I was
able to raise that threshold to about 150 kPa.

After a lot of head scratching I figured it out, it was the stock coils.
Well, one of them which had a small crack.
When I replaced that coil, I wanted to be curtain that the timing still was synced.
So I locked the ign. timing at 10 degrees and checked it with the strobe.
The timing was correct, but the laptop battery was near dead so I just closed the lid.
So I forgot to remove the 10 degree lock.

The engine didn't feel quite right but I thought that I still had some coil problems.
After a little time on the freeway the coolant shot out over the hood and windshield.

I had just received my first BHG! :-/

My garage spot is currently occupied by my other car which I'm finishing up to be able to sell

it. So my supra will have to wait.

tow my supra from my home to my garage.

Today I separated the engine from the gearbox and installed it on my engine stand.
Then I started disassemble the engine.

Warning! There is a shitload of pictures!

You can also see the damage I caused and a strange thing, the rear timing belt cover is
higher than the engine block :S
