engine swap help

i have a question i have a 88 n/a and im planning on doing a gte swap i know that i will have to change the wiring and other things. but will a 7mgte lets say that came out of a 90 mk3 will it swap ok if i change the wiring to the same year as mine? are the engne mounts diffferent? just trying to figure out if i will run into any problems ?

i might be wrong but i know in 89 the engine mounts are diffrent and i know when swaping 1jzgte which uses the 89+ engine mounts it works so ill assume that you would need diffrent mounts since they changed them if im wrong im sorry

yes the mounts are different from 89+. use the mounts/wiring/ecu from your year car. flywheel-drive shaft is different from n/a-turbo also.

so i can just use the mounts that i used with my 7mge? and i planning on using the w58 just for a little while do i have to do any modificatins to fit the trans? im sorry im a newb at engine swaps

if you get a 7mgte from the year you have yes if you get it from a 89+ no youll need diffrent mounts and as for a w58 i think all you need is a diff bell housing

use the mounts from the ge. its not the year of the engine that matters it the year of the car for getting the right motor mounts. n/a-turbo same mounts and pre89 and 89+ different mounts.

the w58/flywheel/clutch will all bolt up no problems.

need some advice. before i do the swap i want to rebuild the 7m i want to shoot for 350-400hp. what i would like to kno is what internals did yall use on your build and mods and what you would reccomend to reach this amount of power.
