Quick background on the car. I bought an 89 Supra with a rod knock to part out. Got the car home and the chassis was in way to nice of a condion to part out so i decided to fix all the issues with the car and make it a nice streetable car. It was originally a turbo automatic but the previous owner did a auto/manual swap. He also removed the engine and did a head gasket on it. In the process of engine removal he managed to bust off pretty much every connector on the engine harness.

Heres where I stand. I have a 1989 Chassis (Built 11/88) with a yellow connector engine harness. I have an engine out of a 1991 vehicle. I have a mint grey connector engine harness from a 5 speed manual. The ECU in the car is currently a 1989 automatic yellow plug computer. What are my options for making everything work together.

Can i find a grey connector ecu and run the mint harness with the 89 chassis harness? Am i better of trying to find a mint yellow plug harness? Should i cut the connectors at the engine bay (fuel injector/cold start/water temp etc.) and replace the bad plugs on the engine harness? The yellow harness i have has been hacked to all hell because the P.O put a FCD, SAFC and god knows what else into the harness by stripping some wires and wrapping them with electrical tape.

Sorry for the long winded post. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

If it were me, I would splice the yellow connectors onto the grey connector harness. I pretty much just did that with my swap. But I have alot of experience with that. Dunno if you do.

You cant repin, grey connectors have different terminals than the yellow. as long as you use sealed connectors when splicing or use heat shrink when soldering it is as good as new.

unpin, snip terminal off, crimp new terminals :D

Having a huge mess of spiced wires is what has cause a lot of car fires recently :3d_frown:
