I'm converting this Mazda RX7 into an electric car. It needs to be finished. I've installed a DC electric motor that's connected directly to the rear axle. There's no reverse, but the car is so light that I just push it backwards. There's absolutley nothing left on the interior. I got rid of everything to save weight. No dashboard. No nothing. Just two seats. I drove it up and down my street with just four old car batteries in it.

I turned the rear axle over so the drive shaft is aiming towards the rear of the car and attached the motor directly to it. You can see the motor under the rear bumper in the picture. This eliminated the springs/shocks for the rear axle so it's a stiff ride.
You'd have to buy some decent deep cell batteries and some sort of controller. Also, you'd need to hook up the headlights, install windshield wipers, turn signals and rear lights. The tail light assembly is missing and so are the turn signal lights. The small rear side windows are missing. I can send you any number of pictures. Here's what I know about the motor I'm using: It's a Prestolite 24v DC motor, it was used in a fork lift to power the hydraulic pump. Was made during the period of 1977 to 1986. Turns counter-clockwise only. MLR4002, engineers # 46-2411, also was used by Cesna as a pump motor, their pump number was 2943.

It's for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
