egr vsv

Hey guys, just a quick question. . .should the egr vsv NOT allow any air to pass through when the car is turned off? I was told that it should not but I am not sure. I was testing my system for any leaks and have found several small ones due to old hoses and bad old clamps. I noticed air is also slowly traveling through the egr system so I just wanted to check

Look at this - the VSV allows vac to the modulator depending on temperature, power on:

Since there is already a thread about VSV's.............. I removed the whole EGR thing on mine, even cut the clips for the VSV's. I remember having read around that all it would do is make the car have a bit of a weird idle at times unless I got an EMS or good piggyback, is that true?

EGR valve NEVER comes on at idle. If valve is removed and there are no vacuum leaks from related ports and hoses, no idle problem.
