EGR reinstall questions?

so pretty simple question i cant find the answer to. I let my friend who was building my engine take off my EGR i am on a USDM ecu:aigo:. What do i need to put it back on, or does an 89 N/A have an EGR and if so could i use it on an 87 Turbo. Any links to info on the EGR install or a reinstall would be helpful been searching foreverrrr and 3 letter words dont like to work. When does my motor run lean on this setup all i can find is part throttle boost

part throttle, up hills and possibly cruise. egr will work from a n/a. its 2 nuts and 2 bolts for the egr piping from the head to the manifold, the vacuum modulator(basically the only thing you see in the bay) and the vsv(under the manifold)(there's only 2 on turbo's).

edit: if using a 3 letter word for the search use * at the end i.e. egr*. you'll get better results.

Its not so much lean, rather high ignition advances when the ecu things the egr is operating.

Is the egr the same between the turbo and NA or will it not work as well? Turn my car back into worry free when part boosting and uphills?
