Well, my e-brake is fairly worn after 18 years of use... so, I was wondering if any companies make an aftermarket one for our cars... or what ones would fit.. oh, and if anybody has a nice clean black one for sale that would be cool too (would any year fit?)

Thanks guys!

Have you tried simply tightening the cable?

If you pull the cover off youll see 2 nuts on a single bolt. Adjust them til the E-brake clicks 8 times when you pull it up.

Yellow that is exactly what I was thinking!!!! Also if it is a cable problem they sell them at any autoparts store. If its a brake problem parts are available as well. If its the handle yes any year should be good as far as I know. The easiest fix would be to post up in wanted section someone will help you out.

the e-brake on our car is designed not to ruin the rear breaks if left on, in other words, theires 2 sets of breaks per wheel, for the rear wheel, so you may need to put new pads in there.. might want to check it out before you tighten the cable..

side note, i just wanted to rattle that info off since its e-brake related..

haha alright, everybody keeps saying things about the ebrake system etc... I was just wondering about the ebrake handle itself, if I could replace it from one from any year mk3... But ya, thanks for the info pimptrizkit haha.

i have to yank my e-brake as hard as i can to get any sort of lock up on GRAVEL. lol.....never done it before and i'm sure as hell not trying that crap on pavement around breakable stuff (other cars). i think mine clicks more than 8 times though... its just good enough to keep the car from moving and applies without much bite...if you pull mine from 5mph it brings the car to a stop but not quickly.

it may need adjusted. take the boot off and have a look around, it's pretty easy to figure out. 1 10mm socket w/ extension and 1 10mm box end wrench. Done! I think mine clicks like 6 or 7 times

my old celica/supa the button poped off the e-brake handle, so i had to lcok the mechinism by hand when i needed the e-brake.

but it was the best e-brake for drift set up.. broke e-brake + bald tires + wet pavement= to much fun!

paint it. or use electrical tape or better yet, some good black duct tape. i have some of that and now that i think about it...that's not a half bad idea if i do it right and put the seams along the bottom.....
