Driveshaft fitment.

Okay I'm doing a 2jzge/r154 swap into my 91 auto turbo supra. I have the engine and trans mounted. I am using the front of a r154 driveshaft and the auto rear. It all bolts on except it seems the yoke is barely connected to the trans, meaning it seems an inch or so short. Anyone know what's the deal? I thought it should all fit correctly together... I'm almost sure its not right this way...

Did you mount the carrier bearing last?

Ive found that when using my 1pc ds that fits on 7m/r154 it is about inch-inch and half to short and vibrated. I put my 2pc stocker back on so i could send it back to him but it did go on farther than the 1pc did. Only about half inch off now and i dont have any vibrations like i did with the 1pc at about 80+.

Yeah it came with a new u joint, but didn't have a carrier bearing or flange. I put the carrier and flange from my auto on it. Could that be the problem? Are the flanges different?

Nope same. But did you slide the yoke in, then mount the flange in the diff, then bolt up the carrier bearings? Thats how its supposed to be installed.

Iirc the auto shaft is a tad shorter correct?

I forget all the lengths but maybe if the w58 one is a tad longer you could swap the yokes and run that shaft.

I can also get thick steel properly made 1pc driveshafts made. Pm me if your interested. After i get mine fixed i will be running that again.

The rear section hasn't been removed.. with the front driveshaft off I mounted the carrier bearing and yoke from my auto d/s, I then slid the front yoke into the trans all the way, then mounted it to the rear driveshaft, I had to slide it back to bolt it up, I then mounted the carrier bearing. That's when I noticed it seemed too short..

Ughhh. You sure you have the right shaft?

That is way to far out. Dont even attempt to drive that or else it will fall out.

Something is not right. Compare the 2 front shafts that you have and make sure you dont have 2 auto fronts.

Mine sits in there just about 1/2in or less doesnt go all the way in.

It should be the right one...I bought it from a member on here, the first one he sent the splines wouldn't allow it to even slide into the r154. I thought the auto driveshaft splines wouldn't fit into the r154... or is it just shorter?

Iirc the yokes are the same between the autos and r154. W58 is different.

But the lengths are different between all 3.

To me sounds like he sent you a w58 first, then a auto second. Since you have the other half of the auto compare lengths to the one thats on there.
