There are 3 different drivelines for the MKIII, 86.5-92 Supra....W58 (Usually Non-Turbo) Manual, R154 (Usually Turbo) Manual, and Auto (Both NA and Turbo).

As you can see, they are all different lengths with the W58 (Top) and R154 (Bottom) looking very close. The Auto (Middle) driveline is obviously shorter.

The common part to each is the back half, the part that connects to the Differential, all three are the same length. The Carrier Bearing is also the same for all three.

The W58 yolk has 21 splines, which will only fit into the W58 transmission. The other two yolks have 23 splines, which will fit into both the R154 and the Auto transmission. But obviously because of length are not interchangeable.

The front half of the Auto is (as measured) 15", the R154 is 16.5" and the W58 is 18".

The R154 and the W58 are a bit beefier than the W58.

Hope this clears a few things up....

not that it will affect you in the the us but the non-turbo 1gge ga70's had a smaller f series diff so the rear section on that is smaller and wont bolt up to the standard g series diff the axels are also 4 bolt on them not 6 but you can use the ga70 front half with the stock auto rear section :)
