Drive Shaft question

So I have a quick drive shaft question. What part or parts of the DS is different between an auto and manual? The reason I ask is I have 2 DS’s the auto one appears almost new no damage, rust, or wear of any kind that I can see and the carrier bearing looks to be in perfect condition. Whereas the manual DS has seen better days. Now I know I can use whichever carrier bearing I want but my question is can I use the auto drive shaft and just swap on the manual intermediary shaft from the manual? Also, has anyone had their DS lightened? I have heard that a lightened 2 piece DS is the best of both worlds so to speak. Thanks for any input.

its the front half from tranny to center berring. put them side by side. from my 88 auto - 5spd swap the auto shaft was only slightyl shorter. the auto shaft youke even fit in the 5 spd! just the dust sheild wont cover the trans. but being a non moving shaft i dont think its critical.

Yea like bioskyline said the auto drive shaft is about 2 inchs shorter than a manual one. I found this out when I ordered my 1 piece driveshaft from jaws gear only to find they sent me one for a manual car when I specifically called and told them my dimensions.
