Does this supra look like its worth it?

Its a 1987 turbo hardtop 5spd with 150k. Its blue with blue int. some rust here and there. It had a valve job, new gaskets from the head up. He said he couldnt get it running for some reason so he lost interest in the project. The head was also brought to a machine shop. I dont know why he didnt bring the block too but anyway here are some pics. Oh and its $800

What do you guys think?

it will need a lot off work to make it in top condition, but the most of it you can do by yourself.
if you have the time, try to talk something of the price and, it will be a nice project

Doesnt look to be to bad of a project for $800. Even a worse case scenario is you can part it out for a profit.

Honestly, it doesn't look THAT bad...the interior is surprisingly clean. Offer him $500.

I paid more for my first supra in about the same condition. I would buy it, fix it, clean it, and ride it till it died...then part it out.:biglaugh:

Have you heard it start up? he probably lost interest because it has rod knock after he blew the HG and got the HG replaced... and theres surface rust over 30% of the engine bay... and the front tire had that spot of mud on it, which means its been sitting for a LONG time now.

If it is rust free yes, if it has rust....find another one. I love the dark blue MK3's though.

I would buy it for 800 and if i was closer and known about it i already wouldve. of course theres a lot of parts that i could use and would most likely get my 800 out of it. but yeah offer him 500 cash like others are saying and go from there.

a lot of people are telling me it wouldnt be good for a DD. I dont know what to do now. lol :nono: I'll probably just offer him a little less and see what he says and take it just for shits and giggles. :biglaugh:
