Has anyone done a soarer or chaser 1j swap into an ma70? I have found lots of great info/diagrams for the supra based 1j and how to tell them apart. But the wiring/plugs and colors are different from what I've seen. Does anyone know what the 2 plugs that come off the driverside,1 oval 3 wires blk, blk/rd and white and the other more round 7 wires where they should go? May be to the fuse block/ old alt wire . How about the other end of the harness. 4 plugs to the body harness?

I just wish I could give them a 1099 for all the money I've spent this year. That would help me out on my taxes................:biglaugh:

This thread is exactly like the calls I get (litterally) every other day from someone who wants to buy, or already bought, this "smokin deal" engine set and they are looking for parts. Without fail, it's a Soarer or a Chaser. Without fail, you will spend more money and a lot more time in the end then getting a Supra engine set or clip. There are vendors preying upon uninformed mk3 guys daily, selling them things they know will not work without additional parts they don't even have available. We know exactly what we are selling you, and we will not exaggerate or mislead you to make a sale.

Wiring a Soarer harness into a mk3? I could, but I still wouldn't want to. Every body connector on the inside and the outside of the firewall would need to be changed. The Soarer motor mounts will not work with the mk3. The Soarer clip/engine set always has an auto trans, and in the rare even it is a 5 speed (very rare), it will not work in your Supra because the shifter is extended back.

But you are not like most people looking to put a 1jz in their car. You have the knowledge to make a standalone work in your car and make your own harness, you found a rear sump 2jz pan which is not that easy to get, and you already had the transmission. Plus you are going single, which is even more custom work and parts.

We did that one the 2jz with BIC mounts, it fit fine.

That's cool, but it was from a jza70 to begin with, which doesn't really apply to people who bought an engine set from a Soarer.

Aaron's right. It's a huge PITA to source all the parts if you don't have a front clip for your specific chassis. Trust me, I know. And even when you have sourced all the parts to get the swap to run, it highly likely that you are missing misc brackets and parts to make it look OEM. That's where the zipties and double-sided tape come in.

But between the JZA70 and JZZ30, the longblocks are identical minus the cooling setup. I was using a soarer engine. Now I have all the little things to make my swap look factory, but that has taken 2 years to collect the parts from friends hooking me up.

Sorry to sound preachy, that's really not my intent. I'm also not saying this to sell something, I'm trying to warn people so they don't get stuck with a bunch of money into something that will not work for them. Some of the people I talked to had to sell their origional engine set at a loss and then go out and find another one.
