Disco inferno! (dash lights)

I am having the same symptoms as in this thread:

Brake light, Tail light and battery. Flashing on and off, sometimes staying on.

Usually happens a few minutes in to driving and happens inconsistently. I wanted to post in the thread but Im not allowed.

Is it really the alternator? I've been laboring under the assumption it is an intermittent ground (and have been trying like hell to find it!). Because if it's dead won't my battery die?

if you are unsure you can have the alternator tested for free at most parts stores. i am familiar with this trouble i just cant recall what exactly causes it

Make sure the wiring and connections at the alternator are good and then have your alternator tested.
